This service requires that the unit be returned to them (Salcom) in Christchurch. The operational battery life for both Salcom 406 EPIRB models is almost double that of other competing products and about 40 hours longer than the 48 hours specified in the COSPAS-SARSAT regulations. Both models can be manually switched or auto activated. For auto activation, the user simply has to flick the release catch, erect the antenna and throw the EPIRB into the water (with the attached lanyard secured). ORDER NOW!
